Super summer!

"Looking to Jesus, the founder and perfecter of our faith."
Hebrews 12:2a

The summer kicked off with a three week kids club. The theme was "Victorious" and the kids learned about times in the bible when God gave his people the victory. Each day we learned English vocabulary that went with the story, then I taught the bible story in Spanish using the English words they had just learned and after that we did a craft that went along with the story. These weeks were so much fun! We made new friends and continued to build relationships with old friends. The ladies at church were a HUGE help each day. Our biggest day we had 31 kids!

This summer our youth group has been on a break. The picture above is of one of our last times together. This Saturday we will be starting back up for the fall. It is hard to believe that this group has only been meeting together for one year. God is good!

Rain, rain, go away! The theme this year at VBS was "Jesus, my life saver". We learned about times in the bible when Jesus saved people from storms. It was very fitting that it rained everyday this week. Our numbers were lower than other years but the kids had just as much fun and heard the gospel several times. It is our prayer that in the midst of their life storms that they will remember that Jesus is always with them.

One of the most anticipated weeks of the year is Radical, the camp Frank and Rebecca put on for youth from across Mexico. It is a joy to serve as a counselor and to learn and grow with these kids. There are over 200 youth that come to learn and grown in their faith in Christ.

Thank you all so much for your love and support. God is good and is at work here in Mexico. This fall I will be focusing on discipling 6 young ladies, as well as doing a kids club once a week. Thank you so much for your prayers.

Blessings,
Alicia

  1. So appreciated hearing how God is blessing the work you are participating in. Love to see the pictures and the personal stories of touching individuals lives. Pray the youth group starts off strong this fall and they see the need for God in their lives.
We will soon be starting our Wed. night classes and pray there will be a good number of children.
We are having beautiful Iowa weather these past few days, it is so refreshing.
This morning we had a wonderful message from Jeremiah 29:11-13.We had a good attendance and we all needed to hear how God has a plan for each of us regardless of age.
    Blessings on you work.
